Whether you are a parent looking to inspire your kids, or even an adult wanting reassurance that humanity exists in the world, this movie is for you. “Dolphin Tale 2” is all about doing the right thing for the right reasons. Just like the original Dolphin Tale movie, the real message doesn’t get distracted by love interests, heartthrob actors/actresses, or even the talented Morgan Freeman. You are taken on a journey of passion, responsibility, and morality and are reminded that it takes strength to make the right decision as opposed to the easy one.

It’s also very moving to see that all the big name actors and actresses returned for the sequel of this story, such as Morgan Freeman, Ashley Judd, and Harry Connick Jr.

But let’s not forget about the main character Sawyer that is played by Nathan Gamble. Sawyer is coming of age and has to decide which path to take in life. He is given this huge opportunity that could jump-start a career in marine biology, but because of Winter’s new condition he needs to decide if he wants to put this opportunity on hold; potentially causing him to lose the chance all together.

Actress Cozi Zuehlsdorff, who plays Hazel, is a girl who grew up in the Marine Hospital and is rumored to have seawater in her veins. Hazel’s coming of age story is about the relationship she has with her father. She struggles to get her father to see her as an adult and trust her opinions about what is right for the animals without  just dismissing her.

Even the main doctor played by Harry Connick Jr. is battling with his own moral code. He constantly tries to stay on the right path by not keeping any healthy animal a second longer than needed before returning them back to the wild. But this becomes increasing difficult when it means Winter will suffer because of his obligations.

That fact that this movie is based on a true story only makes it even more awe-inspiring and heartfelt. Don’t forget to stick around at the end of the movie to see the real footage from this story unfold on screen and witness how accurately this story was portrayed.

“Dolphin Tale 2” hits theaters Friday September 12, 2014.
